Sparking, preventing. - In order to facilitate interruption of a three-phase circuit, one pole only of the three-phase circuit-breaker is provided with arc-extinguishing means (for example, arc-gaps in series, explosion chambers, speciallyrapid moving contacts, or means for forcing oil between the contacts). Alternatively, while all the poles have arc-extinguishing provision that for one of them is arranged to be. more effective than that for the others. The three poles may be contained in an oil receptacle of round section, the pole having the more effective means for accelerating the interruption lying between the other two.
