Abstract

Fusible cut-outs.-The arc occurring when a high voltage A.C. circuit is broken is suppressed by arranging for it to move into a slotted insulating structure. As shown the circuit breaking depends on a spring-urged fuse 5. which on melting, allows the arc to be drawn into the slotted structure 8. 9. The theoretical considerations underlying the arc-rupturing action are set forth in the Specification.
