Cells.-An insulating lid for a cell is provided with a raised portion or hump between the terminals to reduce the surface leakage. Fig. 1 shows a plan of a lid provided with a raised portion 4 between the terminals 1, 2. The hump 4 may be provided with a recess 5 which may be filled with paraffin wax or other acid resisting material which does not wet. Any number of such recesses may be provided in the hump and they may be open or closed at the ends 6. The hump may be made wholly of a material that does not wet.
