Coating.-Articles of aluminium or aluminium alloys are provided with zinc coatings by treatment with solutions of zinc salts containing also an alkali borate, for example mixtures of alkali cyanide, zinc carbonate, and borax, or of alkali carbonate, zinc carbonate, and borax. The articles may be dipped in the hot solutions, or the solutions may be painted or sprayed on the articles.
