Measures of capacity.-A measure suitable for testing the accuracy of petrol pumps comprises a container 4 graduated at 9 and provided with a displacer 8 secured to a, rod 7. This rod is cut away at intervals and a pair of grippers 10 are adapted to hold the rod at. any height to which it is adjusted. The liquid is introduced at 4<b> and falls down an open pipe 6 accommodated by a cut-out portion of the displacer 8. The rod having been suitably adjusted, the height to which the liquid rises can be compared with the scale 9 and with an index mark on the displacer. The container may be provided with a spirit level and adjustable feet 5.
