Abstract

284,303. Shromberg Motor Devices Co., (Assignees of Chandler, M. E.). Jan. 29, 1927, [Convention date]. Detachable stoppers secured by clamping- devices. - In chambers, e.g. filter chambers, having a glass or other frangible cover, the cover 19 is provided with a flange 21, Figs. 3 and 4, resting on a seat 17 on the body 12 of the chamber, and is secured in position by a clamping ring 24, gaskets 22, 23, preferably of cork, being interposed between the parts. The ring 24 is attached to bosses 26 on the body 12 by screws 27, and abutments 26' may be provided on the bosses 26 to limit the movement of the ring 24. In a modification, the ring 24 is provided with protecting strips passing over the top of the cover 19.
