Abstract
284,268. Kirchbach'sche Werke Kirchbach & Co. Jan. 26, 1927, [Convention date]. Clutches, friction. - In friction discs for clutches, brakes, &c. made of fibrous material impregnated with a hardening binder, such as asbestos and a phenolic condensation product, the driving-teeth are formed on a continuous steel or other metal ring 2, Fig. 1, partly embedded in the periphery of the disc 1, the outer part 3, having the driving-notches 5, being preferably thicker than the embedded part 4, which mav have notches 6 and perforations 7, into which the friction material is pressed while plastic. The ring 2 may be turned, the shoulders under the part 3 being then undercut. In a modification, the thick part 3a, Fig. 3, is formed by beading over a sheet-metal ring 2a. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), specifies as a binder a solution of the material known as " Bakelite." This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
