Abstract

284,165. Nie, G. A. van. Sept. 5, 1927. Cleaners for tobacco pipes. - For cleaning tobacco pipes by means of steam from a kettle, a rubber tube 1 has a conical plug 2 for engagement with the spout of the kettle, and is connected at the end 4 to the stem of a pipe; and the steam pressure in the kettle is raised by means of a sheet 5 of rubber or the like fitted beneath the lid 8 of the kettle and having a triangular opening 6 for the relief of excess pressure. In use, the opening 6 is between the edge of the lid and the rim 7 of the kettle, and its position can be adjusted in order to control the steam pressure. A metal lining 3 may be provided in the plug 2.
