Abstract

283,816. Dobbie, J. C. Sept. 16, 1927. Observation devices.-In an observation device for use on motor and like vehicles one or more mirrors are adjustably connected to the radiator cap by means of a clamp comprising two substantially semi-circular parts 11, 12 adapted to be connected by bolts 13 and provided with the required number of mirror-carrying lugs, the device being applicable to radiator caps of varying sizes. In the arrangement shown two mirrors 20 are provided, each being fitted at the rear with a ball 23 adapted to be clamped in a socket formed by co-operation of the end 16 of the part 11 of the clamp with a detachable member 17 connected to the .part 11 by a bolt 18. The parts of the clamp may be lined with rubber 14. A spring 22 is disposed between each mirror 20 and its backing or supporting plate 19, and the mirror is retained in position by a frame member 24 engaging the edges of the mirror and attached to the plate 19 by bolts 25.
