Abstract
238,699. Payne, L. T. Aug. 31, 1924. Lock-out reflectors.- In ar. observation mirror for motor vehicles, a socket d is concealed in the back of the mirror holder or frame e for cooperating with one arm a of an attachment bracket, so that the frame e can be formed with a plain back to facilitate cleaning. The mirror is secured in adjusted position on the drum a by a screw f. The other arm b of the bracket forms the pivot pin of a pair of clip parts c, preferably of similar form, adapted to grip between them the edge or side support g of the windscreen, a bolt h being passed through slots in the clip parts and having nuts i, or a nut and head to secure the parts together. The outer faces of the clip parts are flat and inclined to one another, so that tightening of the nuts causes the bolt to be pressed tightly against the part g, at the same time causing the clip to grip the front pin b. This pin is slightly curved so that by raising or lowering it relatively to the clip, the mirror can be adjusted as to inclination.
