Sugar preparations. - Food preparations are made by mixing lactose with fruit juice solids, for example those of the citrus fruit, orange, lemon or grape fruit or mixtures thereof, with or without the addition of other sugar; the quantity of lactose used is sufficient to suppress hygroscopicity in the fruit juice solids. The lactose may be added to the fruit juice and the mass then dehydrated as by a spray drier. The product may be in powder, granular, or flake form. Specification 285,580, [Class 49, Food &c.], is referred to.
