Mooring.-Pontoons or other floating bodies, are moored by lazy-tongs mechanism a which terminates in prongs g designed to penetrate the ground. In a light form of the gear the mechanism is operated by a two-armed lever f, Fig. 1, the lower end of which terminates in a stud working in a slot e<1> in a link e connected to the pivots of the lazy tongs. In a heavier form, the lazytongs are weighted by bars i, Fig. 3, having notched edges with which engage a lever k which serves as a locking device. In this form, the mechanism is operated by a rope p passed over a winch o.
