Abstract

283,171. Kõppler, P. Jan. 6, 1927, [Convention date]. Ink-ribbon mechanism.-A multi-colour inkribbon vibrator is connected to a rocking yoke having pins arranged at different distances from the pivots of the yoke and adapted to engage rocking arms which are operated by the universal bar and are movable laterally to render either pin operative for the purpose of altering the throw of the vibrator. The mechanism shown in Fig. 2 is mounted as a unit with the printing-line indicator 40 on a, bracket 19 secured to the carriage bed 17, the vibrator 32 being guided by the indicator. The vibrator is pivoted to a rocking yoke 29 which is pivoted on studs 28 on the bracket and is provided with pins 26, 27 arranged at different distances from the pivots. The studs co-operate with slots 30, 31 in short and long arms formed in a member 15 and pivoted on a rod 16. The member is connected to a returning- spring 24 and is provided with an ear 35 engaging an inclined face 36 on a rocking arm 14 operated by the universal bar. The rod 16 is moved longitudinally by means of a knob 20 to render operative the pin 26 or 27 and thereby alter the throw of the vibrator. For stencilling, the knob is set in an intermediate position, neither pin being then operative. The knob has a spring catch 21 for engaging notches 22. The movements of the vibrator are limited by adjustable stops 33, 34 in the path of the member 15 and yoke 29, the arms of the yoke being relatively twisted to correspond to the adjustment of the stops. The carriage shifts in an inclined path, the face 36 being arranged parallel to the path so as to maintain engagement with the ear 35.
