Abstract
282,814. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Aug. 14, 1925, [Convention date]. Addition to 256,964. Hydrogenation, destructive. - The process described in the parent Specification is applied to the destructive hydrogenation of liquid carbonaceous materials i.e. oils, tars, resins asphalts and their conversion products. Brown coal producer tar containing 3C per cent by weight of crude brown coal or peat is fed continuously into a high pressure vessel coated with manganese bronze and treated with hydrogen under a pressure of 200 amosphere at 450‹. The products are cooled by heat interchange with the hydrogen and a thin liquid product containing 25 per rent benzines is obtained. The products before being cooled may be passed through a second vessel containing a catalyst e.g. molybdenum. Specification 192,850 is referred to.
