Golf practising and teaching appliances. - A device for practising and teaching golf strokes comprises a track provided with a secondary or cam track on one of its faces, a frame adapted to travel on the first-named track and having an arm from which a follower extends to the second track, a pivotal stick-connection on the frame and means for imparting the movement of the arm to the pivotal stick-connection to rotate the same. In Figs. 1 and 2 is shown a portion of an approximately circular track 1 of a suitable size for a player to stand in a central position and describe a stroke with a golf stick'10. On one face of the track 1 is a cam track 2 mainly parallel with the edges of the track 1 but crossing from one edge to the other, as shown, at one portion of the track. A frame 3, with rollers 4 engaging the edges of the track 1, runs freely on the track and carries a lever 17 connected by gearing 18, 16, 14<a>, 15 to a swivel connection 7, 9 to which the golf stick 10 is attached. One end of the lever 17 carries a link 20 with two rollers 21, 22 embracing the cam track 2 so that as the player swings the golf stick 10 the cam track rocks the lever 17 and causes the stick 10 to turn about its longitudinal axis and compel the player's hands to make the correct movements. The pivot 19 of the link 20 is detachable so that the rollers 21, 22 may be removed in order to permit use of the device without the constraint, of the cam track.
