Abstract
282,606. Robinson, J., and Smith, J. July 14. 1927. R e c i p r o cating sieves.-In reciprocating sieves of the type in which cleaning brushes are caused to traverse the underside of the sieves by the reciprocating movement thereof, the brushes, Figs. 1 and 2, comprise a sectorshaped frame j carrying rows of bristles d and pivotally mounted at e on the carriage a, so as to turn in a plane parallel to the sieve, the frame being held by a ball or like catch f engaging one or other of the holes g in the carriage frame and being rotated from one position to the other by the impact of the carriage a with the sieve frame. In the construction described, the brush is adapted to sweep one half of the sieve in each direction of traverse, but may be adapted to cover the whole width of the sieve during the traverse in both directions.
