Abstract

Aeroplanes; planes, construction and arrangement of; cars and cabins; propelling; steering, balancing, and regulating altitude.-The upper and lower supporting planes of an aeroplane bounded by converging side walls 20, form a tapering tunnel 18, 19 on each side of the fuse. lage 1, both tunnels merging at their rear ends into a single opening of which a propeller casing 22 forms an extension. The side walls 20 are hinged on vertical hinges 23 near the front edges, and may be moved outwardly to the position shown in broken lines when it is desired to direct the air-stream away from the propeller 6. These side walls 20 carry fixed fins 11, 12 to which are hinged ailerons 9, 10. A pilot's seat 2, passenger cabin 3, and freight space 4 are provided in the fuselage 1.
