Abstract

281,882. Wigglesworth, F. Jan. 4, 1927. Operating clutches.-Clutch disengaging-gear comprises a hand-lever L keyed to the clutchactuating shaft S, on which is loosely mounted a weighted bell-crank lever W<1>, provided with a pin or bowl W<3>, normally held out of contact with the lever L by the engagement of a nose W<4> with a pivoted detent C, biassed by a weight or spring C<2>. The detent is tripped by a rope C<3>, or electrically, tq allow the weighted lever W<1> to fall, the pin W<3> then striking the lever L sharply and disengaging the clutch. The weight W is guided in a frame A and is cushioned by a resilient buffer R.
