Abstract
281,823. Bennet, G. H. Oct. 16, 1926. Folding brackets. - A bracket for supporting a seat, desk, &c. consists of two stamped or pressed metal parts 3, 4 hinged together by expanding over the end of a hollow spigot 8 on one part after being passed through a hole in the other part. The parts 3, 4 are provided with marginal strengthening flanges 13, 6 respectively which bear on the parts 4, 3 to reinforce the pivotal connection. A flange 14 on the part 3 engages the upright 2 to which the bracket is attached by a bolt 11. The flange 6 is formed as a stop 15 which engages the flange 13 to limit the movement of the part 4, which has a flat portion 9 on which the seat &c. rests, a flange 10 on the part 9 engaging a recess in the seat &c. The part 4 may be provided with turned-over edges 9<1> sunk in the seat &c. Specification 189,205 is referred to.
