Abstract
281,429. Brown, G. R. Oct. 5, 1926. Switches, quick - break; cases.-A U-shaped element 6 mounted upon a plate 9 secured to a switch-base, is formed with a neck 7 carrving a screw-cap 5 on which screws the cover 10, the sides of the element 6 being perforated to receive the journal 14, 16 of the switch. The members 14, 16 carry the moving contacts 22, the bolts 29 by which they are secured serving also to unite the members 14, 16 to a central spigot 15 of angular cross-section on which are carried rings 37, 38 having arms 39 connected by a link 44 to the lever 45 of the actuating handle 47. A spring 50 gives a quick-break action. The fixed contacts 34 are carried by blocks 32 secured to the flanges 8 of the element 6. A single pole switch may be similarly constructed one of the blocks 32 carrying a fuse. A shield 52 separates the moving parts from the leads that enter by the opening 36 and pass to terminals 33.
