Abstract
170,401. Nadaud, C. L. J. B., and Young, F. July 20, 1920. Switches, quick-break; covers and lids. - A switch fuse comprises a fixed member carrying one or more pairs of contacts 1, 2, a second member carrying one or more co-operating pairs of contacts 11, 12, and adapted to move rectilinearly to and from the fixed member, and means on one member for connecting a fuse 19 across each pair of contacts, the two members together forming a box enclosing the switch. The contacts 1, 2 may be carried by a box-shaped member 4, Fig. 3, and the movable contacts by a plate 15 adapted to slide into the box. The plate 15, fitted with a handle 22, is guided by one or more rods 7 secured to the box 4 and passing through bushes on the plate. A cotter 21 passed through one such bush slides in a slot 8 in the rod 7 and holds the switch closed by engaging under a shoulder 10 at one side of the slot. A spring 9 on the rod 7 effects a quick break when the cotter 21 is re. leased.
