Abstract

281,206. Wolseley Motors (1927), Ltd., and Boden, O. Aug. 15, 1927. Crank chambers having large opeuings 5, 6 at their ends through which the crank shaft is threaded to mount it, have one end cover plate 8 made integral with the fly-wheel casing 18. As described in Specification 269,713, the upper halves 3 of the intermediate crank shaft bearings may be cast with the casing and the fly-wheel 16 attached to the tapered crank shaft and by a sleeve 17 and keys. The cover plate and casing 8, 18 may be of aluminium and is formed with ribs 21 one of which has a bored boss to receive a dowel fixed on the crank case. Two engine bearers are formed with the casing.
