Master control systems.-In a motor controller with electromagnetic means for actuating and restraining a number of contactors 6 - - 9 adapted to short-circuit sections of starting-resistance R<2> - - R<5>, inductive action in a coil 16 connected across the motorarmature A varies the effect of the contactor restraining - magnets Y according to the acceleration of the motor. The respective restraining- magnets are connected to coils 11 - - 14 wound for mutual induction with respect to the coil 16 on a core 15. All the contactors and also the line-switch and the reversing switches 2 - - 5 are actuated by magnets connected to a master-controller 10. As described, the invention is embodied in a controller of the kind described in Specification 290,479.
