280,337. Derwent Foundry Co. (1920), Ltd., and Jobson, J. E. V. Oct. 1, 1926. Agricultural machines.-Rotary knifeblades of lawn-mowers, edge-trimmers, &c. are simultaneously bent to a curved cross-section and twisted into helical form by feeding a heated blank into a die having the form of a finished blade and to which is imparted a combined angular and axial movement. The end of the heated blank n is inserted in the end of a groove e of desired configuration in a former a which is rotatably mounted in a traversed slide c. The former is also provided with a cam track p in engagement with a roller f adjustably secured to a fixed standard h so that the former is moved angularly during its traverse. The blank is pressed into the groove by a spring-pressed roller k mounted in the support. On the return movement of the slide the completed blade is ejected by the pointed end q of a spring-controlled arm o.
