Abstract

283,266. Westhoven, A. M. Oct. 5, 1926. Lawn-mowers. - In machines in which short blades are arranged in sets or groups on a rotary spindle, the blades 9 of adjacent sets are disposed at opposite angles and the ledger blade 19<a> has oppositely inclined cutting-edges to correspond. The forward ends of the corresponding blades 9 of the different groups meet the ledger blade 19<a> in succession. The blades of alternate sets form a helix of quicker pitch than usual. The sets are detachably and adjustably mounted on the spindle 12, which may be square escept at its ends.
