Abstract

279,544. Reavell, J. A. July 27, 1926. Liquids, treating with gases.- Apparatus for evaporating liquids comprises a chamber a into which the liquids are sprayed by an atomizer b. A heated current of gas is introduced through a pipe g and is given downward helical motion by passage through an annular chamber h, Fig. 2, having slots i provided with baffles i or through annular conduits m formed with ports n. The gas current after deposition of the solidified particles is removed between an annular baffle o and the lower wall of the vessel a. A cold current of gas is blown through a pipe e on to the atomizer b to prevent over heating and deposition of solid particles thereon.
