Abstract

279,248. Yeomans, H. Oct. 28, 1926. Cleaning externally.- A tool for cleaning boiler tubes, stays, &c. and the end plates to which they are secured, consists of pivoted jaws c carrying scrapers d and having tails a whose distance apart is controlled by a screw e carried by a handle f by means of which the tool can be rocked. The cutters d project sidewise so that when the tool is pressed by means of a wedge (not shown) against the end plate carrying the tube &c., the plate also is scraped. In a modification the tails a are held apart by a spring which can be compressed by a wire operated from the handle of the tool.
