Abstract
278,485. British Dyestuffs Corporation, Ltd., Hollins, C., and Chapman, E. Aug. 24, 1926. Purifying saccharine liquids.-The decolourization of syrups and aqueous liquids by adsorbent materials, such as charcoal or silica gel, is effected in the presence of small quantities of certain wetting-out agents namely, alkylnaphthelene sulphonic acids, the substances prepared from mineral oil fractions bv sulphonation and condensation with isopropyl alcohol, lignin sulphonic acids, naphthenic acids, and sulphonated higher fatty acids. These agents may be added to the liquid to be treated or the adsorbent material may be impregnated with the dispersing agent, Specification 274,611. [Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
