Abstract

"Carbon-black," substantially free from oil is used for decolorizing fats, oils, sugar solutions, and other liquids. Solid adsorbents such as kieselguhr or china clay may be mixed with it. The "carbon-black" may be freed from oil by heating to redness out of contact with hydrocarbons. Specification 25571/99, [Class 46, Filtering &c.], is referred to.
