Abstract

278,156. Pochin, F. H., and Pochin, H. S. Sept. 6, 1926. Dust &c., confining and expelling on generation.-Apparatus for removing dust from grinding and like machines, e.g. boot-finishing machines having various brushes and buffing and abrading wheels, comprises conduits through which the dusty air is drawn from the hoods of the various tools and impelled to an elevated chamber which communicates by depending filter tubes or bags with a dust chamber. The air escapes through the filter tubes and dust falls into the dust chamber. The ends of the tubes may be secured over flanges surrounding apertures in the chambers. The hoods, ducts, fan, and chambers may be fitted into the frame of the grinding machine. The collecting chamber may be fitted at the back of the machine on a level with the hoods and the length of the filter tubes may then approximate to the height of the machine. The fan may be driven by connection with the driving shaft of grinding tools.
