Abstract
277,530. Schr÷n, H. Dec. 2, 1926. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Four - stroke - cycle engines; driving-gear. - To balance a five cylinder engine in the longitudinal direction, the pistons are connected to a crank shaft with the cranks arranged as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 or in a mirrored reflection of Fig. 1. The cranks may be equi-spaced along the shaft; or the cranks 2 and 4 may be at a distance from crank 3 of #5-1/2 times the distance that cranks 1 and 5 are from the centre crank. The sequences of ignition for both two and four stroke cycles are given.
