Electrically-released switches.-In thermostatic temperature-indicating device a helicallycoiled bimetallic strip is arranged to rotate an arm to release a spring-operated bell-crank lever to operate contacts. The strip A, which is attached at one end to a fixed plug and at the other end to a rod E. is enclosed in a tube B which may be inserted in, for example, a hole in a bearing bush. The rod E carries an arm E' and adjustable plate E<2>. On the latter is mounted a block E<4> on which rests one arm F of a. bellcrank lever pivoted at G. When the strip A expands, the block E' is moved from under the arm F, and the second arm F<1> of the bell-crank lever can then be moved by a spring G<1> so that a roller H carried bv it can make or break suitable contacts (not shown), in a circuit containing any suitable signalling device. When the strip A has cooled, the device is re-set by means of a pushrod L which rocks a shaft L<2> carrying an arm L<3> adapted to engage the lever arm F<1> and restore it to normal position. The casing C of the device may have an inspection window C<2>.
