Abstract

Fluid-actitated valves.-A fluid-actuated cnntrol valve particularly adapted for controlling the unloading valves of air compressors comprises a disc valve member adapted to work between oppositely disposed seats and is provided with means to prevent fluid flowing through the control passage until the valve member has moved into engagement with the exhaust seat. The valve disc 8 has rounded edges 8a to make restricted contact with the surrounding wall and is normally held in contact with the smaller inlet seat 9 by the rounded end 12a of a spindle loaded by a spring 11 arranged between abutments 12<b>, 12<c>. The abutment 12c is adjusted by a screwed sleeve 13 loosely surrounding the spindle and operated by a handle 13a. The control passage 6 is connected to the space surrounding the seat 9 on the upper side of the valve by a passage 15 controlled by a spring-loaded ball valve 17 and is connected to the space surrounding the exhaust valve seat 10 on the lower side of the valve by a passage 14. The connecting passages are all formed in one part of the casing which is adjustably screwed to the other part so that the distance between the seats can be adjusted.
