Abstract

Starting.-In a valve-gear for compressed-air starting valves which is brought into operation by turning on the compressed air, a control piston k mounted loosely on the valve spindle d tends to hold a valve a closed and the opening of the valve is effected by a separate pressure piston i when the control piston is displaced by the action of the valve gear m, l. As shown, the valve is normally closed by a spring e bearing against a collar g on the valve spindle. An extension k<1> of the piston k is in contact with the lower face of the piston i and has a flange k<2> engaged by the valve lever l. When the compressed-air supply to the pipe b is turned on, the compressed air acts on the lower face of the piston k and on the upper face of the piston i, to which it is admitted by a passage h in the valve stem.
