Abstract
276,657. Soc. Anon. des Anciens Etablissements Bernard Verrerie de Bagneaux. Aug. 27, 1926, [Convention date]. Hydrostatic apparatus. - In a process for grading objects according to their weights, the objects are placed on an isolated float or a float belonging to a group of floats which sinks more or less according to the weight of the object and thus brings the object opposite to a series of inlets leading to the compartments of a grading device. A row of floats E of the hydrometer type is arranged within a tank B, the liquid contained therein being maintained at a constant level by means of a feed pipe and overflow. Each float is situated within a conduit I to damp the oscillations. The platforms H of the hydrometers are situated near the inlets M of inclined shoots N leading to boxes or compartments O which may contain liquid or solid cushioning material. In using the apparatus, the operator places the objects one by one on the platforms H and when the last platform has been loaded returns to the first. platforms (whose oscillations have meanwhile had time to damp) and pushes the objects successively into the shoots N, whence they fall into the grading boxes O.
