276,196. Cooper, C. J., and Mason, A. M., (trading as Cooper & Co., C. J.). Nov. 1, 1926. Stationary mixers with rotary stirrers. - A mixing or pugging mill for paint, foodstuffs, &c. comprises a casing of truncated conical form with one or more outlets at its larger end and enclosing two or more shafts on which mixing blades are mounted having turned-over portions fitting closely to the inner surface of the casing; the front of the casing is removable for cleaning or other purposes and is mounted on runner bars. In the form shown, the casing a encloses two square shafts b on which the blades are mounted by collars o and set-screws. The beaters are arranged to scrape the ends of the casing, and also, by means of their ends d', the sides. The front a<1> is, as shown, supported on runner bars h. The shafts are supported in bearings in the ends of the casing and in further bearing to the rear. The mill is charged through an opening in the top and the discharge outlets, near the larger end, are controlled by rack and pinion gear.
