Processes.-In the moulding of a grinding or polishing disc having parts of different densities, the material is piled up in the mould at points intended to have greater densities, for example, at the centre, and the final shape is then given, in the same mould, by a ram. In order to equalize the density throughout the thickness of the disc, the mould with the material therein is inverted, and a second compression carried out.
