Moulds.-A mould for artificial stone comprises a metal frame, the lower surface of which is formed of polished glass pressed upon a level seating on the frame by springs. Fig. 1 shows one construction in which a sheet c of glass is pressed against a level surface on the underside of the metal frame a by means of blade springs d turnable about screws e which form feet for the mould. In other forms the moulds are made with several division plates f or without any. Glass rods or mouldings may be used in the moulds to form ornamental edges on the slabs.
