285,081. Siemens, K.. F. von, Siemens, H. von, and Franke, A., (trading as Siemens & Co., Geb.). Feb. 11, 1927, [Convention date]. Brushes.-Dynamo brushes and like electrical contacts, moulded from mixtures of carbon or metal and carbon, are provided with metal inserts for the reception of screws by moulding the mixture about metal inserts placed on the bottom of the mould. The inserts may be tapered to prevent subsequent withdrawal from the article and may be positioned within the mould by pins on the mould bottom or by recesses therein; in the last-mentioned case, the projecting portion of the insert is subsequently removed by grinding &c.
