Abstract

258,086. Jensen, J. E. Sept. 16, 1925. Moulding cork.-In making cork sheets by heating moulds in which granular cork, with or without adhesives, is compressed between metal plates 5, the cork is filled in between the plates edgewise, after removing the upper side 7 of the mould, whilst the mould may be vibrated. The whole is then compressed and retained by clamps 6, and the pack heated in an oven. Insulating plates 9 may be used at the ends to equalise the heating effect. Distance pieces or flanges 8 are provided for the plates to determine the thickness of the sheets.
