Abstract

275,230. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. July 29, 1926, [Convention date]. Monoazo dyes.-Monosulphonated arylazodiarylamines containing at least one nitro group in the diarylamine complex are employed to produce yellow dyeings on cellulose esters and ethers. The dyestuffs are made by condensing nitro- or dinitro-chlorbenzenesulphonic acids with aminoazo dyestuffs or by condensing nitro- or dinitrochlorbenzene with monosulphonated aminoazo dyestuffs; other groups e.g. amino, methylamino, oxy, and methoxy may also be present. In examples, (1) acetate silk is dyed an intense golden-yellow shade by 4-benzeneazo-2<1>: 6<1>- dinitro-4<1>-sulphodiphenylamine; (2) acetate silk is dyed a fast yellow shade by 4-benzeneazo-4<1>- nitro-2<1>-sulphodiphenylamine.
