Abstract

275,046. Pyrene Co., Ltd., and Zieschang, R. Oct. 13, 1926. Collision - guards. - A collision-guard for a vehicle comprises a substantially straight and rigid back bar 2 adapted to be attached to the vehicle by brackets 3 and two front bars 1 secured at their ends to the back bar 2 and carrying one or more leaf springs 6 bearing upon plates 14 fixed to the back bar. The leaf spring C is fixed to the front bars by a bracket comprising a front plate 8, centre plate 9 and rear plate 10, the front bars 1 being secured between the front and centre plates and the spring between the centre and rear plates, the whole being clamped together by bolts 7. The plates 14 form the means for clamping the back bar 2 to the brackets 3 and the outer surface of each plate is tapered towards the centre of the back weaker spring being acted upon by a collar on of the leaf spring.
