Abstract

Sanitary and hygienic devices.-A disinfecting device for the mouthpieces of telephones, speaking-tubes &c. of the kind in which an attach. ment is adapted to be detachably secured to the mouthpiece for retaining a disinfecting pad, ball, block or tablet in position in the mouthpiece, comprises a metal, celluloid &c. grid formed with two or more lugs A adapted to extend over the edge of the mouthpiece, the disinfecting tablet &c. B being supported on an intermediate portion of the grid. Various ways of supporting the tablet on the grid are described. Thus, as shown in Fig. 1, the tablet may be secured to the grid by adhesive or may be mounted on a backing b, Fig. 3, which is formed with hook-shaped edges b<1> adapted to fit over and embrace a por. tion a<1> of the grid. According to further modifications the portion a, may be formed with a turned over end adapted to exert a continuously resilient pressure on the tablet, the tablet may be secured to the portions a<1> by a fastener of the well-known paper fastener construction, or the grid may be formed with a pocket to receive the tablet, a flap or other device closing the opening to the pocket to keep the tablet from falling out.
