Abstract

Trusses.-The spongy rubber pad d of a spring truss is secured to the back plate b by means of a thin sheet of rubber e, which is cemented at the back of the plate and to which is cemented a thicker sheet of rubber e<1> which extends a short distance only around the pad. Holes are made in the sheets e, e<1> to accommodate the studs b<1>. The spring a of the truss is padded, as shown in Fig. 3, with spongy rubber d' retained in position by a strip of rubber e<2> which is passed around the back of the spring and cemented thereto.
