Induction furnaces.- A furnace for use in the production of articles of fused silica comprises a graphite muffle e supported by a carbon ring f having an opening through which articles can be introduced into the muffle. A tubular casing h, fitted on the ring f, is filled with heat-insulabing material g and is wound with a coil i which is traversed by highfrequency currents.
