Abstract
293,652. Hauser, M. April 26, 1927. Divided on 270,301. Resistance materials.-Electric resistances are made of a mixture of ceramic materials with silicon or ferro-silicon, with or without other metals, such as chromium, iron, nickel and their alloys, and boric acid. The boric acid may be added in the free state, or in combination especially as a frit or a glass; the temperature co-efficient of the resistance can be regulated by varying the proportion of boric acid. The silicon or ferro-silicon is preferably added in a granular form, passing through a sieve of 30 meshes to the inch. The mixture is fired in a reducing or oxygen-free atmosphere.
