Gases, separating mixtures of.-Gaseous mixtures including a constituent which is inert to metals at a high temperature are treated under pressure by a fractional solution process so that the inert constituent remains undissolved, and the undissolved gas is heated to a high temperature and used to compress the incoming mixture; the dissolved gases also may be utilized in the same way. The separation may be effected in one or more stages. The process is particularly applicable to the separation of oxygen from air by solution in water.
