Abstract

271,629. Dewhurst, r., and Baker Perkins, Ltd. May 5, 1926. Endless-band conveyers, articles carried by.- Apparatus for drying and shaping garments &c. by inflattion with hot air comprises two enclosed adjacent air ducts a to which hot air is supplied by a fan m, travelling endless bands b, and slidable garment supporting nozzles e which communicate. with the ducts. In operation, the nozzles with the garments 3 attached to them are fed by hand on to the runways d secured to the undersides of the ducts and moved to the opposite end of the casing with the garments in an inflated condition by the stops f on the endless bands. At the opposite end of the casing to that at which the garments enter, the nozzles are removed from the runways and after the garments have been detached are conveyed to the opposite end of the casing by endless bands z disposed beneath the ducts. The garments are then suspended upon hooks q supported by rollers r, Fig. 6, and connected to an endless chain p disposed between the air ducts and subjected to additional drying by re-conveyance through the casing.
