Blasting fuzes.-A plug of fusible material c, Fig. 1, embedding an electric fuze a is tapered for insertion into the mouth of a detonator case d, Fig. 3, and the mouth of the case is externally heated by a die c before the insertion of the plug, the surface of which is thus melted, facilitating the insertion and ensuring a watertight joint. The tip of the fuze a may be coated with fusible material, if the plug is to be transported before insertion into the detonator case..
