Blocks and shoes acting on drums; fluidpressure; compensating for wear.-Relates to an arrangement of adjustable stops for the shoes of brakes that are applied by a fluid pressure device to permit adjustment of the shoes to compensate. for wear. The shoes 3, 4 are applied to the drum by fluid operated pistons 7, 8 in a cylinder- 6 and are provided with screws 9 which in the release position of the shoes abut against the inclined ends of a sleeve 11 rotatably mounted in a bearing 12 secured to the anchor plate for the shoes. The sleeve 11 is adapted to be turned' so as simultaneously to adjust the clearance of the shoes by worm gear 15, the squared end 17 of the shaft of this gear being accessible through a hole 19 in the brake drum 2.
